Attendance Policy & Procedures
The New Albany Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation requires that students attend each day the school is in session. Each day of school is part of a sequential learning process, therefore missing even on day without food cause should be avoided. It is impossible to make up instruction simply from completing work at home.
Reporting Absences to School
Parents are to notify the office of a student’s absence or tardy. When reporting the absence or tardy, please use the attendance line 812.542.6501 and provide complete information as to child’s name, teacher, request for picking up home practice, and the reason for the absence. Failure to contact the school office with information regarding the student’s absence may result in an unexcused absence.
The attendance line is monitored daily and is the most effective way to communicate a student absence the office and teachers.
