We are reaching out to tell you about a funding shortage in Floyd County’s “Blessings in a Backpack” program and to ask for your help on behalf of our 70 FKE students who benefit.
FKE PTO is asking for our parents to sponsor a child. By making a donation to cover a full, 1/2, ¼ or other portion of a backpack of food. The cost to fund a child for an entire year is only $80. We are collecting these donations now through the end of the school year so we can be ready to pay for the food in August.
If you can donate:
- Please send in a check made out to “FKE PTO”
- Put “Blessings in a Backpack in the reference line of your check and place it in the envelope included.
- To keep track of donations, we are asking parents to indicate their desire to donate (anonymously if you wish) on this online sign-up sheet: http://bit.ly/Food4FKEkids
Blessings in a Backpack is a 501©(3) charitable organization, so please indicate on the front of the envelope if you would like a receipt and include your child’s name and teacher if you would like us to send a donation receipt home.
